And the Award Goes To....

Room To Grow has won it's first award! Deboarh Stewart planted a little sunshine and sent an award my way.

I've won a Versatile Blogger Award!

So the rules for accepting this award starts here..
#1 Thank the blogger who gave it to you…

Thank You to Deborah Stewart (@Teach_Preschool) for giving this award to me. Deborah was one of the first tweeps I met on Twitter!

#2 Share 7 things about yourself…

  1. In the On line world we only see headshots and avatars, so you might not know that I’m just under 5 feet tall!
  2. My dream job would involve writing or creating a preschool and/or kindergarten curriculum.
  3. I’ve started to write at least 4 different books… none of them are completed but I have a vision.
  4. I’ve known my two best friends for over 30 years and we still talk almost every day! I met one when I was 4 and the other when I was 7.
  5. I’m learning to use my Cannon Rebel and I’m signing up for a photography class soon.
  6. I’m an 80s girl – I love Fame, Flashdance, Sixteen Candles, Madonna, New Edition, Culture Club, Tears for Fears, etc!!!
  7. I can’t sleep if my closet door is open :-)!

#3 Pass the award to 15 bloggers you’ve recently discovered and think are FABULOUS!!

It’s going to be hard to limit myself to 15 but here we go! These 15 bloggers (in no particular order) have an impact on early childhood through their passion for literacy, education, teaching, and their desire to share their knowledge with others.

1. What Am I Going To Do With Them All Day?

4. My Brown Baby

5. Bakers and Astronauts

6. Waddlee-Ah-Chaa

  4. Firstly, congratulations on your award - you have a lovely blog and it's much deserved.

Second, thank you very much for passing this award on to me! Very kind of you!

Third, I smiled to see how much we have in common! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 80's - Pretty In Pink is my all time favorite movie! I'm also just 5 feet tall, took a photography class last fall with my Canon Rebel and have a dream of publishing a book someday.

It's so nice to "meet" you!

    Warmly,
    Mari-Ann

  5. Okay, how about this: I can't sleep with the closet door open, either! And when I was a teen, I just KNEW I was going to marry Ralph Tresvant—no lie! LOL!

Congrats on your award, thank you passing it along to MyBrownBaby, and, above all else, THANK YOU for being so committed to the education of our babies!

  7. Mari-Ann,
I love Pretty in Pink too! I forgot about that one! What about the Breakfast Club? Love that one too! I can't wait to start my photography class. I posted a few pix on my bio page but I have a ton more to share one day soon!

    Short girls rock!

  8. Denene,
I'm glad that we connected in this CyberWorld. I found your site on the Black Web Log Award site (I was disappointed that there was no "education" category, but glad to find you there!).
And although we are friendly now, I would have had to fight you for Ralph Tresvant back in the day. LOL. Keep up the phenomenal work!

  9. Thanks so much for the award. Much appreciated!

I’m an 80s girl, too. Just bought my daughter a set of vintage Tomy Fashion Plates...I must have sold my set. My husband just shook his head when he found out.

Good luck with the book writing. I have random ideas floating around in my head. Someday they may emerge.
