My Childhood Favorites

Occasionally I get a little nostalgic and begin thinking of old TV shows, toys and books that I loved as a child. Well, its one of those times. Here are some books that I remember reading over and over again as a little girl:

Harry the Dirty Dog Board BookTen Apples Up On Top! (Beginner Books(R))And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street (Classic Seuss)

Hop on Pop (Beginner Books(R))Put Me in the Zoo (I can read it all by myself' Beginner Books)In a People House (Bright & Early Books(R))

The Tale of Peter RabbitRichard Scarry's What Do People Do All DayMadeline

And as I got a little older:

BlubberThe OutsidersAre You There God? It's Me, Margaret.

What were some of your "back in the day" favorite books?

  1. I love Harry the Dirty Dog, also - you can hear Betty White read this story at the interactive site from The Screen Actors Guild Foundation http://www.storylineonline.net/

Personally, I loved the series about Uncle Wiggly that my parents read aloud to me, which you probably never heard of.....because I am 65!

  2. I adored Noel Streatfield's Ballet Shoes series and my daughter just read them and loved them too (very girly)!

Apart from that I was addicted to Enid Blyton's Secret Seven Adventures. Terribly British and now very dated.

  4. Good list! I think there's quite a few of those I remember reading a lot as well. Definitely remember the Richard Scarry books as well. I read a lot of the Judy Blume books as I got older. I also read a ton of Encyclopedia Brown and Choose Your Own Adventure books.
